Alan de Val

Alan de Val Mencia Barrica 07 is awarded with the prize of this competition held in Cordoba.

In the XV National Wine Competition Awards 2009 held in Cordoba on September 26, 30 tasters from around the country tasted more than 400 wines coming from 50 denomination of origin and others without denomination.

Awarded the Silver award "Mezquita de Cordoba" came Alan De Val "Pedrazais" Mencia Barrica (oaked) 2007. This is a single vineyard wine  from the "Finca Pedrazais" owned by Alan de V

al which continues to reap success. The "Pedrazais" vineyard soil has slate and has shallow soil with

plenty of loose stones on the surface, this coupled with an average height and excellent guidance, gives us wines with high aromatic components and a distinct mineral character.
